Davis Islands is Tampa's premier 875 acre island suburb with an astounding 11 ½ miles of water front real estate. Originally two small islands called "Little Grassy Key" and "Big Grassy Key" near the mouth of the Hillsborough river, Davis Islands real estate was built up from mud dredged from the bottom of Tampa Bay Florida and converted in the 1920's into an idyllic island community. On Davis Island, Mediterranean Revival architecture is encouraged, especially in newly built homes, in order to enhance the ambiance of this Venetian paradise.
