Housing Predictor, who monitors 250+ residential property markets nationwide stated that Florida seems to be emerging from the real estate slump before any other states, including California. The State of Florida is seeing population growth... and single family home and condo sales have been on the rise for more than 6 months! Foreclosures and short sales presently account for approximately 67% of all sales and often are not included in real estate agents' tallies. Also, many banks in Florida housing markets are cranking out more home loans, and sellers are financing almost 20 percent of all sales.

Would you like an extra $8,000? If you are a first-time homebuyer then we have a great surprise for you.
Last fall, the Federal Government introduced a financial incentive to prospective first-time homebuyers — an income tax credit of up to $7,500. The rules were simple: you must be a first-time homebuyer (which means you have not owned a home in last 3 years) and you met certain income restrictions.
The new $8,000 tax credit is available to those who buy between 01/01/2009 and 12/01/2009. It is not a deduction, but an actual credit. Unlike the $7,500 first-time homebuyer tax credit introduced last summer; this tax credit does not need to be repaid.
First time home buyers who qualify have to make less than $75,000 in adjusted gross income if they’re single or $150,000 if filing jointly. The maximum tax credit is $8,000 or ten percent of the sales price of the home, whichever is less. 3 years residence in the home is required.
